These terms are the agreement between you and Can Ayan ("we", "us") for the use of Inner Light: Daily Practice ("the app"). By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
What you may do
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. The licence is for your own practice.
What you may not do
- Copy, redistribute, resell or publish the app's guided practices, teachings or written content outside the app
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
- Remove or obscure any notice of ownership
- Use the app in any way that breaks the law where you are
The practices themselves belong to the traditions they come from. What we own is this presentation of them — the writing, the sequencing, the recordings and the software.
Subscriptions
The app is free to download. Every tradition keeps one practice free, permanently. Optional subscriptions unlock the rest:
- All-Access — every tradition, every practice, the soundscapes and your full history. Offered monthly or yearly.
- Foundations and Deep — a single tier of traditions each, offered monthly.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is switched off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, at the price shown for your plan.
You can manage subscriptions and switch off auto-renew in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions at any time after purchase. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period already paid for.
Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial period.
Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by territory. We may change prices for future periods; changes never apply to a period you have already paid for, and Apple will ask for your consent where its rules require it.
Refunds
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Refunds are at Apple's discretion under the App Store Terms of Service — we cannot issue them ourselves. Requests go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
Health and safety
Inner Light is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice. Nothing in the app diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any condition, and none of it replaces care from a qualified health professional.
The app includes optional practices involving breathing, physical movement, cold exposure and heat. These carry real risk if done carelessly. In particular:
- Never hold your breath in, under or near water, and never hyperventilate before entering water. This can cause blackout without warning.
- Speak to a doctor before starting if you are pregnant, or have a heart condition, high blood pressure, epilepsy, a respiratory condition, an injury, or any condition these practices might affect.
- Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, faintness or distress, and seek medical attention.
You take part at your own risk, and you are responsible for judging what is safe for your own body.
Traditional practices
Some traditions in the app — Reiki, Qigong and Nada Yoga among them — are presented as living traditions rather than as evidence-based interventions, and are labelled that way inside the app. Where research exists it is cited and characterised honestly. We make no claim that any practice produces any particular outcome.
Your content and privacy
Your practice history, preferences and any optional check-in reading stay on your device. There is no account and no server. The privacy policy sets out the detail, including exactly what happens to a check-in photograph.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Where you have statutory consumer rights, these terms do not affect them.
Apple
This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Ending the agreement
You may end it at any time by deleting the app. We may end it if you break these terms. Provisions on liability, warranty and ownership survive.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version always lives at this address with its effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live.
