Spotter ("we", "the app") is an AI lifting coach. This policy explains what we do and don't collect. The short version: your workout videos never leave your phone.
What stays on your device
- Camera video. When you film a set, video is analysed **entirely on your
device using Apple's on-device Vision framework. It is never uploaded, never stored by us, and never sent to any server.** Only numeric scores (squat depth, tempo, rep count) are produced from it.
- Your workouts and profile (programs, logged sets, streak, estimated
training weights) are stored locally on your device. We do not have a copy.
What we send off the device
- Coaching text. To generate your post-set and post-session coaching notes,
we send only numeric rep scores (e.g. depth 88, tempo 79) to our server, which forwards them to Google's Gemini API to produce the text. No video, no name, no identifying information is included.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through
RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. They receive your App Store transaction data to validate your subscription. We never see your card details.
What we do NOT collect
- No account is required to use Spotter.
- We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or location.
- We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell any data.
Data retention & deletion
Because your workout data lives on your device, deleting the app removes it. Numeric scores sent for coaching are processed transiently and not retained by us in an identifiable form.
Children
Spotter is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
